Come Build Along With Me (And Home Depot!)

I have some super FUN news to share today.  If you read my blog you know my heart is near and dear to a certain big orange home improvement store.  (In fact I’m there so often they know me by name!)

I’m a very loyal customer to The Home Depot and they are my number one go to place when it comes to DIY projects.   But they are more than just a store.
Home depot 1
Every month my kids participate in the Home Depot kid’s workshop and they get to build a simple woodworking project that gives the the chance to work with their hands.
Home depot 2
The older girls have gone dozens of times, and last month the baby participated in his first build, a little toy wagon. It was so cute!

But did you know that Home Depot offers workshops for adults too?  I have attended quite a few of the Do it Herself workshops (that is where I learned the tricks to install crown molding!) and Do It Yourself workshops too.  They are all great programs that give you a taste of a project so that it seems so much less intimidating.  And they aren’t all building projects, I’ve learned how to tile and install a faucet via workshops.   There is something for every experience level and interest.

So imagine how excited I was when one of my favorite bloggers, Cristina from Remodelando La Casa, invited me to join this month’s DIY Workshop online and give this month’s project my own spin! (WHAT?!? SERIOUSLY!?! YES!!)

My own version of this darling wooden door mat:
Along with myself, Cristina also asked three other fabulous bloggers to do their own versions as well:
On March 21st we will be revealing our projects!  (Mark your calendars!!)

And the best part?  If you like this project, it will be COMING TO A HOME DEPOT NEAR YOU

The Wooden Door Mat workshop will be held on:
March 26th
10:00 to 11:00 am
Stop by next Monday to get lots of inspiration from the virtual party.
Register to create the wooden door mat right HERE.
Share your very own project throughout your social media channels using
  #DIYworkshop.

I’d love to see your projects so don’t forget to tag me or send me a photo! I’ll feature them on my Facebook page.  The whole project costs less than $20 and the tools to make it are super straight forward! So no excuses!
So don’t forget to come back on March 21st to see my version and get fired up.. so that on Saturday you can build your own doormat!

IT IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!!
