If you haven’t heard about the Rae Dunn Pottery Phenomenon yet, you clearly aren’t hanging around on Instagram.  Rae Dunn has a white rustic pottery line with distinctive lettering that has become the darling of the blogging world. 
So of course, now that Christmas is almost here, it is time to jump on that trend to create Rae Dunn inspired ornaments that reflect that same style. 
I used my Cricut to create these and I thought I would put together a quick video and list of supplies I used in case you want to try your own version!

Over time the ceramic insert in my slow cooker has become discolored and scratched up.  I love to shred chicken breasts in my crock pot using my hand mixer and the mixer blades leave grey marks all over the bottom and sides. 
Regular washing doesn’t take the marks off, but there is something that does.  Bon Ami powder cleanser!

This post is April’s Dollar Store Design Squad challenge and I'm so stoked with just how fabulous this project came out. I mean, I thought it would work out, but the actual finished project is so much nicer than I actually thought it would be.. (oh, should I be admitting that out loud?)

This tote bag is actually made from dollar store PLACEMATS. Yep, those are placemats, and the entire project only took a few minutes and cost about 4 dollars!  (Nice right?!)

I've been looking for excuses to get into the workshop and build things.. small things, since I know not everyone needs 10 farmhouse tables or to constantly makeover chests of drawers and highboys.

Don't get me wrong, if I had a huge house or a shop or something, big furniture builds would be my jam, but my house is bursting at the seams!  I just need some small scrap wood projects that you can whip out quick.. just to get a little sawdust in my hair and keep me busy!



So today I am sharing this really easy basket build, which will be perfect for Easter egg hunting later this month.  My son has already claimed it as 'his' and I am pretty sure it will soon be filled with matchbox cars and LEGO figurines.

The build is SUPER simple.  It requires a little plywood, some trim and a short dowel. Although you could modify the design to use scraps you had on hand. Since all the measurements were eyeballed, the dimensions aren't super important.

Today's craft is so simple you are going to wonder why you didn't think of it yourself.   

These Rae Dunn inspired easter eggs feature the signature skinny hand-written style font and some cute Easter words.   You could also personalize them with names, which would be fun for little easter baskets.

The process for making them is pretty much identical to that of the Rae Dunn Ornaments I shared at Christmas time, and I made a short video of the process so you can see just hot quickly they come together.

One of my most popular tutorials is “How To Etch Glass” where I demonstrated the etching process in a photo tutorial.  I field DOZENS of questions about the process every month.  In that post I use a vinegar bottle (turned soap dispenser) as my sample project.
So I followed up that original post with another one and this time etched mugs for Father’s day.

But I am still getting questions about all the steps, and most of these could be readily answered by just watching the entire process from start to finish.
