Simple Sangria Recipe

Hey y'all!  Mandee from The Kitchen Wife here and I love getting together with my girlfriends.  Whether it's book club, planner group, or just a Friday night, you can bet that a great bottle of wine will probably be involved.  But sometimes you just want to shake things up.  That is why I love this Simple Sangria Recipe

I love that it uses everyday ingredients that you probably already have around the house and it can be thrown together in no time.  I can't wait to share it with you so...

Let's Get Started!

Simple Sangria Recipe:
*Prep Time: 5 minutes-Overnight *Cook Time: -- *Serving Size:  2 qt. Pitcher

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bottle of Red Wine (your choice)
  • 4 c. of Lemon Lime Soda
  • 2 Macintosh Apples, Diced
  • 2 Granny Smith Apples, Diced
  • 2 Oranges, sliced
  • 4 Cinnamon Sticks

The fresh fruit for the Simple Sangria in the pitcher.

Once you have diced all of your Apples, sliced your oranges, and gather the cinnamon sticks, place them into a 2 quart pitcher.

Now pour an entire bottle of red wine over the fruit in the pitcher.

The kind of red wine that you use is entirely up to you.  I used a semi-dry pomegranate wine from Chestnut Ridge, a local winery here in West Virginia, but I have done this with a Cabernet Sauvignon.  Whatever you are into will work here.

The fruit and wine are steeping for the Simple Sangria.

Once you have added the wine to the fruit, I like to let it steep in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
However, if you don't have time, you can serve immediately.

After you have let it steep, you can top off the pitcher with Lemon Lime Soda.

Stirring the Simple sangria ingredients.

Give everything a nice stir to let those flavors all come together.

And you are ready to drink!

This Simple Sangria is sexy, sweet, tart, spicy, everything a girls night should be and it couldn't easier to make!  So the next time you and your ladies plan an event together, make sure this Simple Sangria Recipe is at the top of the list!  And as always....
