The Kim Six Fix's Top 10 Posts from 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I’m jumping on the bandwagon and sharing my top 10 posts of the year.  I ranked my posts based solely on page views.  How many people actually read the post.  Some posts were more popular on Pinterest or Facebook, but these were the ones that got people over here to my little ole’ blog.

So, without further ado… A Countdown of my 10 most popular posts:

10. How to Install a Beadboard Ceiling
I thought this was interesting since my original beadboard ceiling was the 8th most popular post of 2012.  Apparently people really love some beadboard on a bathroom ceiling.

9. Breadbox Electronics Charging Station
I am still using (and loving) this setup.  The post was recently featured on the Hometalk Facebook page which I think pushed this project into the top 10.

8. Room Staging for MLS Listing Photos
This was a Flashback Friday post.. the only one that made the top 10 list.

7. Wood Slice Dollar Store Pumpkin
This was my most polarizing post on this list. People either loved it or hated it.  I personally still think it looks cool.

6. Custom DIY Baby Gate
This gate is still hanging on the stairs, but I am about to take it down.  Probably some time this spring. The baby is big enough to go up and down the stairs on his own.   *sniffle*

5. How to Etch Glass
If you don’t own a Silhouette Cameo yet, this project should be the push you need to buy one!

4. Engraved and Illuminated Ornaments

Of all the posts on this list, this is the one I am most proud of.  It was my first (and only) video tutorial I ever recorded.. and it is closing in on 15,000 views on YouTube.  HOLY CRAP!

3. "Do you want to build a snowman?” Olaf Valentine
Apparently Disney’s Frozen has a magic touch when it comes to viral posts. Don’t believe me? Check out the next post on this list.

2.  DIY Elsa Dress
I can’t believe I almost never posted this tutorial.  I didn’t think anyone would be interested.. I stand corrected.

And the big winner of the year is…..
1. How to Paint Upholstery
Seriously, you can paint upholstery.. and the question that still comes up on that post: “Has it held up?”

Yes.. yes it has.  It has actually gotten softer with the wear and tear.  No the paint hasn’t started to come off at all.. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Well, there you have it.  My top 10 posts of 2014. What a great year it has been.

And come back Friday. I have rounded up more than ONE HUNDRED number 1 posts from 100 different DIY bloggers.   You want 100 of the GREATEST projects of 2014??  I’ll be sharing them with you!  You cannot miss it!!
