10 Easy Mason Jar Projects

Mason Jar Projects10 beautiful and easy mason jar projects. Turn the lowly mason jar into beautiful home decor!
Unless you have been living under a rock, you have probably seen the trend of MASON JARS all over the place.  These staples of yesteryear are no longer relegated to pantry shelves and country decor.  Mason jars have been transformed to fit into the popular farmhouse and shabby chic decor style that seems to be everywhere these days.

Turn Tongue and Groove Flooring into French Cleats

Tongue and grooveHang Heavy Objects using Tongue and Groove as French Cleats. So fast and easy, plus it supports a lot of weight!
Hanging heavy objects on your wall can be a challenge.  I often make large (heavy) signs out of reclaimed wood or cabinet doors and suspending them on a single wire hanger can be tricky.  In addition to that, I live in earthquake country, and making sure that objects on the wall are secure even under heavy vibration is essential.
My California Republic stenciled sign weighed a little under 50 pounds.

Some items, like shelves or cabinets need even more support, and that is where french cleats come in.   This hanging system works by supporting the weight of an object over an angled joint which is secured on one side to the object and into a stud or solid surface on the other. NewImage

Magazine Stand Turned Tiered Planter

Before and after planter from table
Magazine Table Turned Tiered Planter. A great way to upcycle an old magazine rack, fill it with flowers!

I was recently at the thrift store and came across a small side table with a built in magazine rack and I couldn’t pass it up.  I don’t need a side table but I had other plans for it.

It was only $7 and it was in pretty good shape.

A few afternoons later, I ended up with this tiered planter, which fit perfectly next to my front door.   I love that once all the plants have grown in, it will be a large vertical wall of flowers.

The transformation was pretty straight forward, but I have a few tips that may come in helpful if you are going to make your own version.

He wore out his last drawstring backpack but it was still lying around, so I grabbed it for size reference and whipped up a new one.

DIY Cornhole Boards from Cabinet Doors

Cabinet doors into cornhole boardsHave you ever heard of the game ‘Cornhole’ (also sometimes referred to as Baggo)?  It is basically a bean bag toss game using a pair of angled boards with holes cut in them.   What started as a beer-drinking tailgate game, has become popular for all occasions.

A wonder woman rast hack? So cute! She painted the drawers with the wonder woman logo and colors. So easy, would be perfect in a little superhero bedroom!Today’s post is a super fun one, since it doesn’t fall into your typical “painted furniture” category.  I mean, sure, it is painted furniture, but not something you’d typically see in Better Homes and Gardens.  This is a little more unusual than that.. since it involves my favorite super hero! Now I know this piece wouldn’t be right for everyone, but that was the point of it.  I wanted to do something a little more fun.
