Tackle Garage Clutter With Overhead Storage: A Fleximount Review

Tackle Garage Clutter With Overhead Storage
Like most homeowners in our area, we do not have an attic or basement for storage.  Because of this our garage is a major dumping grounds for all our stuff. The problem with that is that I also use the garage as my workshop and we would like to actually park a car in there once in a while.

In the past I have shared our struggle to keep it organized (and the amazing previous transformation) but since that time we have accumulated more stuff and once again, we are running out of room.

Recently we went camping and I had to drag out all the coolers, sleeping bags and suitcases. The volume of space these items ALONE take up is massive.  I knew I needed to add more storage!

Fall Ribbon Garland

Hi KimSix fans! I am thrilled to be back sharing another project with you today! I'm Deborah from Salvage Sister & Mister. I blog with my husband, he's the brawn, to assist others in salvaging their time, money, resources, and moments for their best life. We would love to connect with you if you feel overwhelmed, feel constrained by finances, want to use more of what you already have, and/or don't feel like your living the life you want to live.

Today's project is~

Fall Ribbon Garland

Do you have leftover ribbon? This DIy project is a great reuse for it ~ fall ribbon garland. It's super easy and can be made for any occassion. Plus, its a grea way to recycle or upcycle all those extra ribbons lying around.

There's always that one person.

That one person who, when opening presents, carefully tries not to rip the wrapping paper and then carefully folds it to use it again. The same person collecting all the gift bags at Christmas to use again the following year. The person who saves the bows and ribbons.

Well I am that person. #noshameinmygame

Oversized Faux Cactus from a Garden Hose

Cactus made from a Garden Hose and Zip TiesEarlier this summer my garden hose exploded while I was watering some flowers in my front yard.  I looked into patching it, but quickly realized it wasn’t worth the hassle.  As I was winding it up to throw into the trash bin I decided to do a quick search to see if there was any good uses for an old, broken garden hose.

Painted Floral Banner

Easy DIY Painted Floral Banner

Hi there! It's Kim from Exquisitely Unremarkable here with another super easy craft project to decorate your home. Today's DIY is one of my signature projects, a banner! Before I started blogging, the only banner I owned, was that cardboard one from the party store that read Happy Birthday in primary colors. However, once I saw all the pretty ways people made and displayed them, I was hooked.

Easy Painted Geometric Metallic Backsplash

Geometric Metallic Stenciled BacksplashWhile visiting my mom this summer, she asked me to help her update her pantry/laundry room. She wanted to make it a little more modern and fun. The room itself was pretty nondescript, with grey-green walls and cream glazed cabinets.
Pantry beforeBecause this is a laundry room and not a common space, she wanted to try something a little more unusual than her traditional Cape Cod/Farmhouse style.  She had the idea to use metallic paints to add a little sparkle to the backsplash over her wooden counter.  And in order to make it feel modern we decided that a random geometric pattern would be fun.  She also liked the idea of using semi-transparent tape and layering the design, and that is exactly what we did.

How to Convert a Hardwired Wall Sconce to a Plug In

How to convert a hardwired wall sconce to a plug in
I recently shared Josh's new bed that I built for him and the most fun feature about it.. the built in sconce on the headboard. Installing that light was a little trickier than it may first appear.
