What is New?

In Honor of Mother's Day..

Today I am stepping away from my love of DIY to embrace the biggest loves in my life:

My princess and my peanut!
The days my girls entered my world, my life was forever changed for the better, and so I am going to spend this Mother's Day holding them extra tight.  I find myself just watching them sleep and I feel an overwhelming sense of how blessed I really am.
Everyone deserves a mother. It breaks my heart to think of all the children who lose their moms way to soon.  If you have never heard of the Logelin family, you need to hear their story.  It will seriously change the way you look at every day you have with your children.  And that harsh reality hit home again today when I found out about fellow DIY blogger Heidi and the sudden loss of her sister in law, who leaves behind her husband, newborn and 2 small children, I ask you to read their story and keep them in your prayers.
Tragedies like that are a heart wrenching reminder of how much I have to be grateful for, how lucky I am to be a mother and to have such wonderful kids in my life.  My heart aches for all the moms who have had to say goodbye to their precious children way to soon and for every woman who longs to be a mother and suffers in silence when she cannot.  For them Mother's Day is a painful reminder of something they so desperately want, and just cannot grasp.

To all my fellow mothers that I know in real life I say thank you. You inspire me, cry with me, amaze me share genes with me, mentor me, whine with memake me laugh, and make me think.  This motherhood journey wouldn't be the same without you.  I also think of my own mother today, and how she made me the woman I am today. (I love you mom!)

So today I celebrate motherhood.  With all the joy and tears it brings.  When I look at my children I can be a kid again, see the world through their eyes and be happy about all the little things.  Things I don't ever want to take for granted.  Because it is the little things that mean so much!

Happy Mother's Day!
